Many HMB readers have asked and now we have an answer straight from the top. BizParentz Founder Anne Henry let us know just this morning that applications are now officially open for the 2011 CARE Awards Child Actor Recognition Event. And don’t waste any time submitting, the deadline of January 29, 2011 is all ready fast approaching!

For those of you who don’t know, our friends over at BizParentz foundation put on the CARE Awards every spring in order to provide our young performers with a venue in which they can celebrate their personal and professional successes and the child performer’s efforts as a whole person, not simply just as a source of revenue. The CARE Awards are based on a unique point system where young performers ages 18 and younger must qualify with a combination of professional acting work in 2010, academics, union membership, training, a written essay, community service, parent industry-knowledge, and several other unique criteria. Proceeds from the event benefit the BizParentz Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education, advocacy and charitable support to parents and children engaged in the entertainment industry.

The 7th annual CARE Awards will be held on April 30, 2011 at the Globe Theatre inside Universal Studios Hollywood. CARE honors over 150 of the industry’s brightest young stars, for their positive contributions to the entertainment industry. Awardees receive red carpet entrance to Universal Studios, private awards luncheon, trophies, gift bags, collectible souvenirs and entrance to Universal Studios Themepark for a day of kid-oriented fun following the event.

Over the years, CARE has earned a reputation as the “hot” event for the under-18 celebrity crowd thanks to the creativity of the event planners who make sure that each year’s event is full of surprises.  Due to the overwhelming popularity of this event, there is no complimentary attendance for celebrities. However, they are welcome to participate in the application process for consideration as an awardee. Artist representatives (parents, managers, agents) are advised to direct their clients through the application process early if they would like them to attend. The application deadline is January 29, 2010.Applications and criteria can be obtained online at http://www.bizparentz.org/careawards.html.
