You never really know how Zendaya (ZAPPED!) will show up dressed for a red carpet event. Will she be styled in urban chic or more runway glam? That’s why we love her style: she’s unique and confident and loves to play around with fashion. She recently attended two BET Awards Show events, exhibiting both sides of her fashion personality.
On Saturday, June 28th, the chart topper arrived for the Debra Lee’s Pre-Dinner at Milk Studios in L.A. wearing a colorful Peter Pilotto Spring/Summer 2014 dress. The structural elements and vibrant colors combined with feminine ruffle and hourglass shape only add to the confidence Zendaya exudes when she’s at an event. She took the color pop even further with slicked back hair, enormous gold hoops, bright red lips and pumps.
For the actual award ceremony, Zendaya opted for a sportier look from the Emanuel Ungaro 2014 Resort Collection. She may have passed on the Aliyah bio-pic, but her look was reminiscent of the athletic style that the late R&B singer was known for. Zendaya totally rocked this looked with bold hoop earrings, braids and snap back, and improved on the styling with the black bandeau rather than the sheer blouse it was paired with in the deisigner’s runway show.
That little bump in the road is nothing for a powerful force like Zendaya. Once the rumor-mill died down, Zendaya found herself back in the news for being named the face of Madonna’s junior clothing line “Material Girl.” She told BET in a recent interview that she loved that the line was “edgy and cool” and a lot like her own personal style.
