Angelina Jolie Praises Child Star Thomas Horn But Brad Pitt Says The Jolie-Pitt Kids Won’t Be Child Actors

Angelina Jolie ran into the child star of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close,Thomas Horn, age 14, on January 7, 2012 at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. She approached him on the red carpet and introduced herself to the dapper teen actor dressed in tuxedo and bow tie.

“Hey, I’ve heard you’re amazing,” Angelina told 14-year-old Thomas, “[It's} very, very nice to meet you. It's an honor." She bent down to his eye level and asked him if he has done events like the red carpet before, and he admitted it was his first time.
"Are you excited or is it weird?" Angelina asked. "It's weird, but exciting, I guess," Thomas replied as his EL&IC co-star Tom Hanks looked on like a proud father.
Jolie then told Horn that her kids (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne) are fans of his work.
"You should be really, really proud. You've done great things," Angie told him. "My kids already think you're cool, so I'll tell them I met you and they'll think I'm cool."

But while the Jolie-Pitt kids may think Thomas Horn is cool, it will be awhile before they can follow in his film-making footsteps if dad Brad Pitt has his way. According to Hollyscoop.com, Pitt’s open to the kids becoming actors — only not until they’re adults.
“Whatever they want to do,” Pitt he told the gossip Web site at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. “Whatever makes them happy. [But] not until they’re eighteen.”
Pitt and Jolie walked the red carpet at the film festival to accept the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his performance in Moneyball.

Stylists Kemal + Karla Do Hailee Steinfeld Serious Red Carpet Justice

CHILD STAR STYLE: On the Red Carpet With The Kids of “Battle: Los Angeles”

Child actors Joey King (Ramona and Beezus), Jadin Gould (The Forgotten) and Bryce Cass (Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?) expressed their distinctly different fashion personalities on the red carpet of the “Battle Los Angeles” premiere on March 8, 2011 at the Regency Mann Village Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. All three children play roles in the action-packed hit film, starring Aaron Eckhart and Bridget Moynahan. Jadin Gould was a red carpet stand-out in a beautiful, age-appropriate, tulle and lace adorned ivory dress. Cass opted for red carpet rocker-casual, as did many of his older male co-stars and Joey King was in a class by herself, pairing a playful pistachio ensemble, with black accessories and gray, high-top converse, reminiscent of a young Cyndi Lauper.
Below are pictures from the event, a trailer for the film, and behind the scenes video footage of the kids on their first day of shooting and the film’s wrap (also Bryce’s 12th Birthday) , shot by Bryce’s mother Terry.

CHILD STAR STYLE: Hailee, Justin and Selena Dress to Impress at Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party

Academy Award Nominee Hailee Steinfeld has become a red carpet expert in less than a year. This talented child has not only performed flawlessly onscreen in the critically acclaimed western hit, “True Grit,” but on numerous red carpets as well – extremely tricky territory for a 13 year old girl with only one feature film under her holster. Hailee at the Academy Awards and later at the Vanity Fair after party, was a vision in a “one-of-a-kind” gown - Marchesa‘s pale ballet pink, crystal hand-embroidered tulle tea-length dress. Hailee recently told Parade Magazine : “Paper Moon with Tatum O’Neal was one of the first [movies] that stood out to me. Her role in that was a bit of my inspiration for True Grit—she was so independent.” (Speaking of Steinfeld’s Oscar nominated role, I highly recommend “True Grit” for child actors over the age of 10 or so. It’s a shining example of young talent and a wonderful performance our kids can appreciate and aspire to.)
Also working red carpet magic at the Vanity Fair bash were teen star power couple Selena Gomez, 18 and Justin Bieber, 16. The pair wore color-coordinated Dolce & Gabbana; Selena in a slinky, red gown accented with gold Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry, Brian Atwood shoes and Judith Leiber clutch, and Justin in an age-appropriate black on black tux with black bow tie and a red pocket square.

CHILD STAR STYLE: Mad Men Star Kiernan Shipka Rules the Red Carpet at 11!

Child actor Kiernan Shipka, 11, plays confused Sally Draper, a child attempting to understand and accept the divorce of her parents (John Hamm and January Jones) on the popular series Mad Men. But off screen she’s a mini fashionista who boasts a closet full of designer labels like Chloe and Dolce & Gabanna Junior.
In a recent interview with the NY Times, Shipka confessed her love of fashion citing her main inspiration as Fifties style icon Grace Kelly, which is fitting as she dresses like a tiny royal at most public events. She stated: ‘I follow fashion trends. My closet’s full of Papo d’Anjo (worn in all 3 photos above). They’re my main brand. I just absolutely love them because the quality is so amazing. Chloé has some amazing kids’ pieces, too, and I have a lot of D&G Junior. Grace Kelly is my fashion inspiration—a classic look, with beautiful pieces, and very pretty.”
Aside from being a talented actress, Keirnan also plays the piano, practices tae kwon do and takes the occasional swing at golf. She is represented by Mitchell Gossett of UTA.
So what’s this red carpet pro’s idea of a good time? A fashion-themed Halloween party. “I have the best idea,” She told the Times, “Fashion Halloween! We’ll have people dress up as Donna Karnage. Michael Korpse. Burbloody.” Talented, stylish and quick witted? This kid is gong places!

Congratulations to Child Actor Hailee Steinfeld on her Oscar Nomination!

As we had hoped, 14 year old ingenue Hailee Steinfeld has been nominated for an Academy Award in the category of best supporting actress for her stellar performance in True Grit. The photos at right are of gorgeous Hailee at the 2011 Golden Globes wearing a white, beaded gown by designer Prabal Gurung, where she was an award presenter alongside teen heart throb Justin Beiber.
