Child Actor Guardians Reach First Agreement With Broadway League
Posted on 31. Jul, 2012 by Editor Tracy Bobbitt in LEGAL STUFF, THE BUZZ
Good news for our Broadway Babies in New York - Child Actor Guardians unanimously ratified their first collective bargaining agreement with the Broadway League.
Child Actor Guardians are employed by members of the Broadway League for the purposes of overseeing the care, professional behavior and well being of child performers while in theaters and rehearsal spaces. The contract is the culmination of negotiations between IATSE, its Local 764 and the Broadway League following voluntary recognition of the union by the League.
The contract is for a period of four years and includes annual wage increases as well as employer contributions to health and retirement funds. The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade show industries throughout the United States, its Territories, and Canada.
