TEACHING YOUR TEENS HOW TO DRIVE??? WE’RE NOW CASTING!

Teaching your teens how to drive can be both an exciting and nerve racking experience. We want to see what your teaching experience is like.
Our cameras will follow you and your teens as you teach them the skills they’ll need to know in order to get their first driver’s license.

• Do you have teens between the ages of 16-18?
• Is it a constant battle for you to get your teens to listen to you while they are driving?
• Are you and your teen so different, it’s just impossible to understand each other?
• Do you have twins who are learning to drive at the same time?
• Is your teen driving your pride and joy of a car and you’re terrified of letting him/her behind the wheel?
• Are you a police officer and find your teen has trouble following driving laws?
• Do your teens think they know everything about driving and won’t focus because they think they know more than you?
If any of this is your circumstance, then we want to hear from you. A Major Cable Network is looking to follow Los Angeles area parents and teens on their pursuit of learning to drive.

Please email your name, your photo, contact number, city you live in and a brief description of yourself
and who you are teaching to drive to: roadtestcasting@gmail.com

HAROLD: LEAD
13-19 to play 14, Caucasian, and male. Ideally looking for an actor from the South, or can speak with a believable and authentic Southern drawl. A bit of an outsider and a loner (think more young Edward Furlong than Disney cute). Harold is a bright, curious 14 year old boy is struggling to come of age in an uncertain world. His mother, Jude, is on her third marriage, but Harold has found a rock of stability in his stepfather, Clay, who lends Harold a sympathetic ear and practical advice.

Besotted with the sexy young Rose, Harold, raised Catholic, agrees to be freshly baptized in her church in order to get a date with her. But Harold soon realizes that Rose is using him so she can sneak off with other admirers.

Harold is even more upset to learn that his stepfather is moving out and he faces an uncertain future.

STORY LINE: Besotted with the precocious sexy ROSE, 14 year old HAROLD agrees to be re-baptized in her church in order to get a date with her. But Harold is crushed to learn that Rose is just using him as a beard so that she can sneak off with older admirers. However, Harold is even more upset when his flighty mother, JUDE, informs him that  his stepfather CARL — a rock of stability in Harold’s fragmented life — is moving out, leaving Harold adrift in an uncertain world where human relationships seem doomed and nothing makes sense…

Yep. You read this correctly. Nickelodeon is holding an open call audition/ casting call for children & teens, ages 12 to 18, in the city of Atlanta, Georgia on January 23, 2010. I can only imagine how many young acting hopefuls are going to show up and what a mad house this promises to be, so go prepared for the audition and for a long, crowded wait.  Some tried and true cattle call tips: Arrive well in advance; Bring ample supplies of water and snacks; Bring a change of clothes, coat and umbrella if necessary; Don’t forget your cell phone; bring a good book; a lawn chair and make sure you have enough change for pay street parking for at least several hours, if applicable. Last but not least – Good luck!

The iPOP concert and convention was held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Century City, CA. The event is an annual acting, singing, modeling and dancing convention, led by a concert series for the attendees which benefits Make-A-Wish Foundation and Starlight Children’s Foundation families. The iPop! Convention concert featured performances by Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Savvy & Mandy, Tiffany Giardina, Ariana Grande, Kimberly Locke, Christopher & Kyle Massey, & Benton Paul.  Note to self: it’s time to brush up on teen performer trivia because most of these names aren’t ringing any bells.

What is iPOP? According to the official website, iPOP (International Presentation of Performers) is a modeling, acting, singing, and dancing convention that is held twice a year similar to an all inclusive huge casting call for young performers. iPOP gives up and coming performers the chance to audition their best acting material in front of the top casting directors, agents and managers. John Robert Powers Pleasanton’s IPOP! Team auditions are held only four times a year so they encourage hopefuls to stay updated on the audition dates.

If you have attended any iPop conventions in the past, I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks!

TV’s GLEE to hold Open Auditions Online

I’m busy watching ABC’s Modern Family on Wednesday nights (and laughing until I cry) while the other half of the TV-watching population (the younger half) is glued to their HD flat screens watching Glee on FOX, the high school musical comedy take-off that has just received renewal for a second season. But that’s old news. The hot-off-the-presses news, as I tweeted a few days back, is that Glee will be adding 3 lucky new cast members. Who you ask?  Believe it or not - it might be YOU!

According to FOX, Glee will be holding a nationwide Casting Call via internet video submissions to audition fans of the show who have what it takes to be Glee cast members. You do not need to be a professional to enter – all entries are welcome! The 3 winners will be part of a multi-episode special in Fall 2010. “Auditions will be open to amateur individuals as well as professionals between the ages of 16-26, and all hopefuls will be able to submit auditions online. Additional details will be announced soon [via]fox.com/glee.”

Executive producer & show creator Ryan Murphy says, “Anybody and everybody now has a chance to be on a show about talented underdogs. No matter who you are, a Broadway talent or a struggling singing waiter with a dream in the Midwest, you now have an opportunity to make that dream come true by posting your talent video and showing us what you can do. ALL the roles will be chosen from the video audition process, which is exciting and unprecedented. We want to be the first interactive musical comedy on television, and the search is ON.”  So if you think you have what it takes to make it – fine tune start fine your funniest material & your best vocals and submit, submit, submit!
