Sailor Brinkley Cook, 15, is making her professional modeling debut in Teen Vogue’s August 2013 issue and her forever young, supermodel mom Christie Brinkley, 59, is beaming with pride as her youngest daughter follows in her fashion footsteps.
Sailor gives teen Vogue an interview in which she reveals the perks of having Christie as her mom especially on their Christmas vacation in 2010: “We were in Turks and Caicos, and got invited to a Zumba class at Bruce Willis’s. I had been Zac [Efron’s] biggest fan since High School Musical—I’m still obsessed with him. So my mom and I walk into the house, and I see his head. I was like, ‘Oh my God, Zac Efron’s here!’ I pulled myself together and was like, ‘Mom, we need to act like I’m not a fan at all. We’re just peers. We are good.’ He was picture-perfect, of course. I saw him again a couple days later on New Year’s Eve and he goes, ‘Hey Sailor, do you want to dance?’ I went back to my room afterwards and video-chatted every single one of my friends. It was my profile picture on Facebook for, like, the rest of the year.”
Of the Teen Vogus modeling shoot Sailor recalls, “I was so scared! I usually just make a funny face or clench up, so I was like, ‘Oh my God! Mom, how am I supposed to do this?’”
Sailor is represented by Cathy Quinn Models. Read the rest of her interview over at Teen Vogue. Sailor’s issue hits stands on July 2.
