Studio C Artists Co-Founders, John Coppola and Michael Sonntag have built an acting and film-making institute based on their highly successful formula called “The New Approach” which markets each actor according to his or her individual talent, assets, and personality.

This summer, Sonntag and Kid’s Coach Kristoffer Kelly are presenting the Screen Acting Intensive Class – Professional Training For Children & Teens. This course will be divided up into a mixture of lecture, discussion, exercises, and one-on-one instruction with the course teachers.  Actors of all skill and experience levels are welcome as they adapt to each individual’s needs. Even if your child has studied before, the teachers build off the student’s current skill set.

Topics for their 8-week intensive include:

• Acting Techniques for Kids – How To Apply The Craft Of Acting To Young Actors
• Working With A Script And Other Actors In A Scene (Paired With Adult Actors)
• What Does Performing In Character Really Mean – Even If You’re A Kid?
• Working In Front Of A Camera – And How That’s Different From The Theater Acting
• Last Class Open To Public – Including Invited Industry Guests And Parents

Cost: $350 in one installment (or $200 x 2 if broken into payments)

ABOUT:

Michael Sonntag is a casting director, film producer, teacher, and actor. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Michael began his career producing local evening news for NBC, after graduating from the University of Notre Dame. He has worked both in front of and behind the camera, in a wide range of positions – most recently casting the feature film, Nephilim, as well as a number of commercials for clients such as Walt Disney Studiods, TV Land, and DeclareYourself.com, with his business partner, John Coppola. Michael has also worked as the casting director and line producer on the television series, Bourbon Street, for Rampart Entertainment. His other producing credits include Co-Producer on award-winning director Vince DiPersio’s acclaimed feature documentary, Truth In Terms Of Beauty, and Associate Producer & UPM on Semper Fi: One Marine’s Journey, for Showtime. His next project, the romantic comedy, Detour, is slated for production in 2009. Prior to producing, Michael held the title of Director of Development for Shakrah Films, after working for many years as an actor in Hollywood. One of the founding partners of Studio C Artists, Michael currently teaches acting classes to both kids and adults, and offers private coaching.

Kristoffer Kelly is an actor, producer and teacher. Born and raised in children’s theater in San Diego, CA. Kristoffer received his BFA in Theater from Chapman University before moving to Los Angeles. He can be found on stage at local comedy clubs and on screen in the upcoming golf comedy, Parfection. He recently produced 13 episodes of B.Boppin’ a children’s tv program that will be on air in summer in 2009. Currently he is producing Sleepy Time Pals, a children’s DVD series. Kristoffer brings over five years of experience of teaching acting to children including teaching children from the inner cities of Los Angeles through his favorite non-profit charity, The Life Through Art Foundation.
