GIVING BACK: Child Star MADISON PETTIS Steps Up for Education!
Seventeen-year-old actress and model Madison Pettis, best known for her roles as Sophie Martinez on the Disney Channel sitcom “Cory in the House” and Peyton Kelly in the 2007 film “The Game Plan,” is using her star power to spotlight a good cause.
Madison is an ambassador for Think It Up™ – a new national initiative of the Entertainment Industry Foundation in partnership with DonorsChoose.org that seeks to inaugurate a new movement in support of students, teachers and schools, helping to create a culture of excitement about learning everywhere in America.
Recently, she joined representatives at the W Hotel to announce Staples’ funding of 135 classrooms projects in Los Angeles as part of a 10-million-dollar pledge to Think It Up.
Posing amicably with Los Angeles-based teachers and students, whom she had attended to support, she stated, “As a senior in high school I know first-hand how important it is for kids to be passionate about what they’re learning.”
We love the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) because since 1942 it has been harnessing the collective power of the entire industry to generate awareness and funds for critical health, educational and social issues. It is smart and relevant that they would choose a bubbly and upstanding role model such as Madison to put a face on charity in young academics. Kudos to Child Star MADISON PETTIS Steps Up for Education!
