CASTING CALL — Los Angeles: GIRLS + BOYS / 10 to 17 years old / for shoot with internationally renowned artist and filmmaker Candice Breitz.

Seeking children of all appearances, ethnicities, types, sizes and shapes. Seeking confident and highly motivated Los Angeles based child actors who have already broken into show business or who feel that they are about to break into show business.

Kids who wish to be considered should have strong personalities and should be passionate about acting. Kids should be able to memorize short monologues well. They should have experience with casting calls and auditions: no first-timers!

Ms. Breitz is looking for articulate and savvy kids who nevertheless still come across as children on camera (not as young adults). Please note that ACTING must be the primary talent — they are not seeking musical or dance talent.

If selected, you will be featured in a reality-based documentary that will be shown on film festivals and at contemporary art museums worldwide. This is Part Three of a three-part project. Part One was shot in Mumbai and features a range of young Indian stars from the Bollywood screen. Part Two was shot in Lagos and looks at the role of the child in Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry. Kids who are selected to feature in the Hollywood segment will be offered international exposure and a unique opportunity to participate in a worldwide project that focuses on and highlights the role of child actors in show business. This is a fun and unusual adventure for your child. Film festivals as well as prominent art museums and galleries in Melbourne, New York, Berlin, Johannesburg, London and Milan have expressed an early interest in showing the documentary trilogy once it is complete.

The first round of casting interviews will take place via Skype and will be completed no later than September 10, 2012. Please have a parent or legal guardian present for the Skype conversation with our casting team. Callbacks will then take place in Los Angeles in mid-September. The shoot will take place in Burbank in late September. Featured kids will be required to be on set to shoot for a maximum of 4 hours. This project is unpaid, but actors will receive credit and meals.
