Here’s a good one Hollywood Moms! Sunset Strip Market, a weekly farmers market on Thursday nights in West Hollywood, has added an outdoor movies and free kids activities to its repitoire. Each week outdoor movies will screen at 8:15 p.m. Seating is provided, but guests are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic supplies to fully enjoy retro films “American Graffiti” (Thursday, June 20) and child star classic  “Stand By Me” (Thursday, June 27).

Market goers can also pick up amazing chef dinners from the market’s many vendors. Dinner options include grass-fed burgers and barbecue from Farmhouse Kitchen; handmade, natural pizza from Pizza of Venice; Canela Empanadas; crepes from Gourmet Crepes; fish tacos from Larry’s Grill; rotisserie chicken from Gourmet Grill Masters; California oysters from Shuck’s Oyster Bar; hummus and olives from Ari’s Natural Food; farmstead cheeses from Dairy Goddess and many fresh fruit and vegetable options from the market’s farmers, including Shear Rock Farms, Gourmet Specialties, Sun Coast Farms and Summer Harvest.

  • First Thursday of the month: Art workshop.
  • Second Thursday: Kid-friendly films and shorts will be showcased.
  • Third Thursday: Farm Style Cooking for Kids. The class, hosted by Sarah Seelinger, is a great opportunity for your kids and family to learn more about farm fresh produce and how to prepare meals using farmers’ market ingredients.
  • Fourth Thursday: Face painting.

The Market also features live music each week curated by veteran Sunset Strip/Viper Room booker Dayle Gloria, with a featured food truck and a craft beer and wine garden.

The market is in full swing every Thursday night from May through October, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the West Hollywood public lot (8755 Sunset Blvd., east of Holloway).
