Speaking as one whose Christmas tree is still up in mid January, I know it seems early to fret over summer camp. However, my friend Christa emailed earlier in the week asking if I knew of any acting-oriented camps I could recommend for a friends' 13 year old daughter and before I knew it the OCD researcher in

Anne Henry of the non-profit organization, Biz Parentz Foundation, announced today that awardee applications are

Yesterday, Jordan worked  on an episode of Comedy Centrals', "RENO 911!" As a background job, we'd normally pass; however, I Love RENO 911! I'm not proud of this.  It's a guilty pleasure and I admit it.  My "rational mom reasoning" for submitting my daughter Jordan for this was threefold: (1) the scene only involved a few kids and the

I’m ready for my close-up Mr. Phillips

Jordan's second favorite part of any shooting day is the time she spends in the hair and make-up trailer being pampered and styled.  Her favorite activity, need I say it, is being on camera. The hair and make-up team on the Todd Phillip's Warner Brothers comedy, "The Hangover," were fantastic to work with and very patient apparently, as

To join SAG or not to join SAG…that is the question.

As many newbie momagers can attest, having your child become a SAG member is a goal that's right up there with scoring a top agent or booking a national commercial.  Simply put, it's a milestone - a very big deal - and sadly not every kid gets there.  After months of waiting for my

Actress Iyari Limon on Breaking in to the Biz

I blogged the other day about the “transition factor,” my own term for the elusive quality that carries children and teen actors into adult acting careers. While the transition factor is a crucial trait for an all ready working child actor, obvious qualities for acting success in the early years are self-belief and determination.

“GREASE!” is the word. “EXHAUSTION!” is the other word.

Mother's Day weekend officially kicked some Hollywood Mom butt. My child star rehearsed for the musical "Grease!" Friday night and worked as background in 2 performances on Saturday. Not bad, except these musical theater shenanigans all took place in Santa Monica, California which is NOT where I reside. In fact the theater is about 30

My interview with Aonika and Sean Patrick Thomas is on the Celebrity Baby Blog tonight – not as revealing or lengthy an interview as Iyari’s but it was about covering the baby shower festivities after all. Aonika was very open about her fertility difficulties and I hope to interview her on an in depth basis

I stumbled upon a blog entry this morning that’s a “must share, ” primarily because I don’t have time to really BLOG today. And I don’t really have time to blog today because I was busy reading other people’s blogs. Which is how I came about this blog post. Yes, it’s a vicious cycle. As

My interview with actress Iyari Limon is up on the Celebrity Baby Blog today. She's seriously one of the most beautiful women alive and her daughter Kimaya, is miles beyond adorable. This photo shows them wearing matching London Bridge tees from the Crib Rock® Concert Series. And speaking of Kimaya, she and my daughter Jordan
